Central Park’s SummerStage Lineup For 2009 Announced

This year’s free concerts at Central Park’s SummerStage will begin on June 12 with a performance by the New York Pops. Some of the 29 other free shows confirmed so far by the City Parks Foundation include Wally Lamb reading from his latest novel, “The Hour I First Believed” (June 17); Yannick Noah (June 21); the Malian singer Oumou Sangare (July 5); the Detroit soul singer Bettye LaVette (July 24); the singer-songwriter M. Ward (Aug. 1); and a dance program with Morphoses/the Wheeldon Company (Aug. 14-15).
