The DVDs are now available for sale for those who can't attend the screenings. Learn the truth about his industry. It is such a shame that cruelty is condone in such a city and near central park. Central park is beautiful but I do avoid the Grand Army Plaza area because of the horses. it is so tragic to see them suffering and a lot of people seems not to care or understand.

I attended the event today and the turnout was great. Two people were escorted out of the theater. One was a female driver and the other was a man who claimed he was media for the industry.

Thanks for the heads up. I contacted my council member about this issue several months ago but got no response. I hope the press covers these screenings so that our politicians see that NYers want an end to horse-drawn carriages in NYC.

Felix is 100% correct. Thank you for bringing this miserable situation to the attention of your readership. New Yorkers should turn out in droves to attend one of the 2 upcoming Blinders screenings in Manhattan. Many of us know the horrors of the NYC horse-drawn carriage industry, but for those who don't, the documentary will be an eye-opening experience. And yes, the City Council should do its job and listen the many thousands of people who have stated their support for a ban on horse-drawn carriages in New York City. The fact that City Council is trying to overturn the ban on term limits--a ban that NYC voters have spoken clearly on, twice--illustrates the self-serving, arrogant, and corrupt workings of the Council. Sadly it is led by Quinn, the new queen of mean and a wickedly corrupt politician.

Glad they are now screening in Manhattan. New Yorkers should all view this screening to learn the truth behind this cruel tradition. Slavery was once a tradition. Cruelty is immoral across all species.
